The Harrisburg Scottish Country Dance Society (HSCDS) was founded in 1982 to promote the art of Scottish Country Dancing in Central PA. Sometimes called "the ballroom dancing of Scotland," Scottish Country Dance is a social dance form in which square dancing and contra dancing originated. It combines are energetic jigs and reels with slower and more elegant strathspeys. Our traditional steps, patterns and dances, both old and new, are danced in groups world-wide and on every continent.
Temple University's Irish Dance Team was formed in 2009. We seek to share our love of Irish dance and culture with the Temple and Philadelphia communities.
Formed in 2009, the Irish Dance team has had wonderful experiences performing both on and off-campus. We're always welcoming new members, whether you're an experienced dancer or just looking to try something new. We host and perform at events regularly, so be sure to stay up to date on our events so you can come out and support us! We love to perform, so if you'd like us to dance at your program or event, feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
