FREE Celtic Festival
Hello! Thanks for keeping an eye on updates for the 2021 Rose & Shamrock Celtic Festival & Feis in Lancaster, Pennsylvania!
Let's get straight to the point. Plans for the annual event in February have been suspended, given the uncertainty of making ANY major plans during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Each year, the festival brings thousands of dancers, musicians, music-lovers and fans of Celtic culture in all its many permutations to downtown Lancaster, and organizers have decided that it would be foolhardy to proceed this year without knowing for sure that we will be able to carry through with our plans.
At this time, it is still possible that the dance and music competitions can still take place, in an altered form to reduce crowding and ensure everyone's health and safety. All other elements of the festival -- bands, vendors, cultural presentations, food, etc. -- have been cancelled for this year. Rose & Shamrock chairwoman, Esther Pujol, and the festival board regrets the necessity of this decision. However, we all have high hopes that we'll be back again, better than ever, in 2022.
Watch this space for details as they become available. In the meantime ... dance, make or listen to music, enjoy each other's talents safely and do what you must to stay in good health. When possible, support your local musicians, dancers, artisans and others so we can keep the Celtic arts alive and vibrant in Lancaster County and beyond!
